Towed Camera

Patagonia 300 (1).png

The MC towed camera is an underwater system designed to carry out detailed scientific inspections and support the environmental and operational certification of salmon farming centers in southern Chile. It allows obtaining high-quality images and video of the seabed, submerged structures, and environmental conditions, facilitating the assessment of sediments, biodiversity, organic waste, and the condition of the facilities. Its surface-controlled operation improves information traceability, reduces monitoring times, and provides objective evidence for audits, technical reports, and decision-making, contributing to safer, more efficient, and sustainable management of regional farming.

The MC camera can operate at depths of up to 300 meters, incorporating a Full HD camera and two 1500-lumen lights to obtain clear images even in low visibility conditions. It has a double-protected umbilical cable, designed for safe and reliable work in demanding environments, and operates with 220V AC power. On the surface, it has a control case called a console, which integrates a PC, monitor, and joystick, allowing for practical, precise, and centralized operation during inspections.

Uses of the Towed Camera

The towed camera is designed to carry out underwater inspections aimed at scientific monitoring, environmental assessment, and certification of salmon farming centers, providing reliable and high-quality visual information in demanding operational conditions in southern Chile.

Its main features are:

  • Seafloor inspection, allowing observation of sediments, accumulation of organic matter, biological remains, and general substrate conditions under the farming centers.

  • Support for scientific and environmental studies, through audiovisual recording used to evaluate benthic biodiversity, environmental conditions, and changes associated with aquaculture activity.

  • Certification of farming centers, providing objective visual evidence for audits, technical verifications, and reports required in control and regulatory compliance processes.

  • Monitoring of submerged structures, facilitating the inspection of lines, moorings, areas near cages, and other areas of operational interest.

  • High-definition recording, thanks to its Full HD camera and its two 1500-lumen lights, which allow working with good visibility even in low-light areas.

  • Depth operation, reaching up to 300 meters, which expands its working capacity in different underwater inspection scenarios.

  • Safe and reliable work, through a dual-protection umbilical cable and 220V AC power supply, suitable for continuous tasks in demanding environments.

  • Surface control, through a portable console that integrates PC, monitor, and joystick, allowing practical, precise, and centralized operation during the entire inspection.
